AVL Data Tiers — Slim vs Detailed

Compare slim (default) and detailed AVL data tiers, pricing, and how to upgrade.

Yipii AVL supports two data tiers: Slim (default for all accounts) and Detailed (paid upgrade). The same WebSocket endpoint serves both — what your session receives depends on your account's entitlements. This page covers what each tier includes at a high level, pricing, how to upgrade, and the terms that apply to Detailed access.

The exact event payload shapes, field lists, and connection parameters are kept current in your account's API documentation, which is provisioned when Detailed Telemetry is enabled. This page focuses on the product story — what you get and what it costs.

Slim tier

The Slim tier gives every account map-grade vehicle position data — enough to build a "where are my vehicles right now" dashboard. Position updates arrive every 25 seconds per asset, which is appropriate for map displays and operational overviews.

Detailed tier

The Detailed tier unlocks richer real-time vehicle telemetry, additional information channels, and integrations with our other products. The exact set of data and channels depends on which Yipii products your account holds:

Real-time vehicle telemetry — continuous live updates, expanded per-event payload, reverse-geocoded addresses, trip detail, sensor data.
Alerts — speed breaches, idling, geofence transitions, temperature exceedances, power-cut detection.
Vehicle health — battery, signal, and computed health signals (available to accounts on the Mobility or Bundle plan).
Driver behaviour — driver identity and a composite driver score (available to accounts with the Driver addon).

Additional real-time information channels may also be available on request, subject to product fit and account configuration. Talk to sales when you upgrade to map your fleet's needs to what we can enable.

Pricing

Detailed Telemetry is €2.00 per vehicle per month, with a €25/month minimum.

A "vehicle" is one tracker-attached asset on your account. The count is taken at billing-cycle close (1st of each month). Vehicles active for any portion of the cycle count fully — there is no proration. Sales-discretion discounts are available for larger fleets; contact sales for custom pricing.

There is no annual discount and no free trial period. Because pricing is per vehicle, the cost is inherently trial-friendly for small fleets — a 3-vehicle account pays the €25 minimum.

How to upgrade

Detailed AVL is currently managed by the Yipii sales team. To request access:

Sign in to iot.yipii.io.
Navigate to Settings → API tab.
Find the Live Tracking row in the Plan card.
Click Upgrade to Detailed — this opens the in-app feedback widget pre-filled for sales. The team will reply with pricing confirmation, the Terms of Service for review, an invoice link, and the API documentation tailored to your enabled channels.

Upgrades take effect immediately after the sales team activates the addon. Your next session will reflect the new entitlements — no client changes are required.

Self-serve checkout is on the roadmap. While we have a small number of Detailed customers, activations are handled directly by the sales team. A self-serve in-app checkout flow will be available in a future release.

Terms of service summary

Subscribing to Detailed Telemetry requires acceptance of three additional terms beyond the standard Yipii Terms of Service:

Attribution (mandatory)

Any UI built using Detailed AVL data — internal dashboards, mobile apps, customer portals, or public pages — must display:

Powered by Yipii IoT — linked to yipii.com

The attribution must be legible and visible (footer, header, or sidebar — not a hidden tooltip). It applies to in-app displays, PDF/Excel exports, and About screens.

Public display restriction

Detailed AVL data may be shown in the customer's own authenticated fleet UI. Public exposure (any URL accessible without the customer's account login) requires either:

An active Yipii public sharing addon, or
Explicit written agreement from Yipii sales

Violation triggers a 30-day cure window followed by addon revocation if uncured.

Resale restriction

Detailed AVL data is licensed for the customer's own operations. Re-selling, sub-licensing, or exposing the data as a service to third parties requires a separate written agreement.
