Billing
Manage your Yipii IoT subscription, view fleet usage, update payment methods, and download invoices for your GPS tracking plan.
Billing
Your Yipii IoT subscription is based on the number of tracked assets in your fleet. The Billing page gives you a clear view of your current plan, usage against your limit, payment history, and the tools to upgrade, downgrade, or manage your payment methods.
Accessing Billing
Navigate to Settings in the sidebar, then click the Billing tab. Only users with the Admin role can view and modify billing settings — Managers, Viewers, and Drivers don't have access to this page. See User Management for role details.
How Billing Works
Yipii IoT uses Stripe for payment processing. Your subscription is a single monthly or annual invoice that can include multiple items:
| Item | Pricing | Description |
|---|---|---|
| IoT Asset Tracking | Per-asset/month or yearly | Core GPS tracking for your fleet — one seat per tracked asset |
| Public Sharing Links | Tiered per shared asset/month | Billed when you exceed the 3 free links |
| AI Assistant | Monthly plan tier | Token-based AI assistant plans for fleet intelligence |
| API Access | Flat monthly fee | Developer API keys and webhook endpoints |
| Custom Branding | Flat monthly fee | White-label pages with your logo, remove Yipii branding |
| SMS Alert Packs | Monthly message packs | SMS alert delivery with configurable pack sizes |
| WhatsApp Alert Packs | Monthly message packs | WhatsApp alert delivery with configurable pack sizes |
All items appear on a single invoice. Mid-cycle changes (adding assets, upgrading add-ons) are automatically prorated by Stripe — you only pay the difference for the remaining days in the current billing cycle.
Subscription Plans
Yipii IoT offers three subscription tiers designed to scale with your fleet:
| Plan | Asset Limit | Support | Key Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Up to 10 assets | Standard email support | All core features: Dashboard, Live Map, Alerts, basic Reports, 3 free sharing links |
| Professional | Up to 50 assets | Priority support | Everything in Starter plus advanced reports, SMS alert credits, driver scoring |
| Enterprise | Unlimited assets | Dedicated account manager | Everything in Professional plus white-label branding, custom report templates, custom billing terms, API access |
All plans are available on monthly or annual billing cycles. Annual billing comes with a discount compared to paying monthly. Your subscription auto-renews at the end of each cycle unless you cancel.
Choosing the Right Plan
Starter is ideal for small businesses, owner-operators, or teams just getting started with fleet tracking. If you have 10 or fewer vehicles and primarily need real-time tracking and basic alerts, this plan covers your needs.
Professional suits growing fleets that need more sophisticated tools. The included SMS credits mean you can send alert notifications directly to drivers' phones, and advanced reporting gives you deeper analysis for optimizing operations.
Enterprise is for large organizations that need unlimited scale, dedicated support, and the ability to brand the platform as their own. Enterprise accounts also get custom billing terms (NET 30, 60, or 90) and volume-based pricing.
Bundle Discounts
If you use both Yipii IoT (asset tracking) and Yipii Mobility (fleet management), a bundle discount is applied automatically to your subscription. You don't need to do anything — the discount appears on your invoice when both products are active.
Current Plan
The top of the Billing page shows your active subscription details:
- Plan Name — your current tier (Starter, Professional, or Enterprise)
- Status — Active, Trial, or Past Due
- Billing Cycle — Monthly or Annual
- Next Payment — the date of your upcoming charge
- Price — your monthly or annual cost
- Subscription Items — all active items on your subscription (tracking, sharing, add-ons)
If your status shows "Past Due," update your payment method immediately to avoid service interruption.
Usage
Asset Count
The usage section shows how many assets you're currently tracking against your plan limit. A visual bar shows your usage percentage — green when you have plenty of headroom, amber when approaching your limit.
If you're nearing your asset limit, you'll see a prompt to upgrade. Adding assets beyond your plan limit isn't possible without upgrading — the system will prompt you when you try.
When you add new assets with trackers, billing is updated automatically after a short delay. This means adding several assets in quick succession results in a single billing adjustment rather than multiple small charges.
Sharing Link Usage
If you use Public Tracking Links, the Billing page shows your sharing usage:
- Active links — how many of your links are currently active
- Free tier status — whether you're within the 3 free links or using a paid sharing package
- Shared assets — total unique assets being shared across all active links
Sharing billing only applies when you exceed the 3 free link limit. See the sharing pricing section for details.
SMS/WhatsApp Credits
If your plan includes messaging packs, you'll see your remaining credit balance and how many messages you've sent this month. Credits are used when alerts are delivered via SMS or WhatsApp. You can purchase additional packs or upgrade your pack size directly from this section.
Report Usage
Track how many reports you've generated this month and the storage space used by saved reports. This is informational — there's no strict limit on report generation for any plan.
Add-ons
Add-ons extend your subscription with additional capabilities. Each add-on is added as a separate item on your Stripe subscription, so you see exactly what you're paying for on every invoice.
AI Assistant Plans
The AI assistant provides fleet intelligence — ask questions about your fleet in natural language, get driving behavior insights, and receive proactive recommendations. AI plans are tiered by monthly token allowance:
- Basic — suitable for occasional queries
- Pro — for regular daily use
- Enterprise — unlimited usage for large operations
To subscribe or change your AI plan, go to the Add-ons section on the Billing page.
API Access
The API Access add-on unlocks developer API keys and webhook endpoints for integrating Yipii IoT data with your own systems. Once activated, you can generate API keys from the Account settings page.
Custom Branding
The Custom Branding add-on removes Yipii branding from all customer-facing pages, including public tracking links. Upload your own logo, set your brand colors, and present a fully white-labeled experience to your customers. See Branding settings for details.
SMS and WhatsApp Packs
Message packs provide monthly allowances for SMS and WhatsApp alert delivery. Choose a pack size that matches your alert volume. If you exceed your monthly allowance, overage messages are billed per-message on your next invoice.
Managing Your Subscription
Upgrade Plan
When your fleet outgrows your current plan:
- Click the Upgrade button
- Select the plan you want to move to
- Review the prorated price difference — you only pay the difference for the remainder of the current billing cycle
- Complete the checkout through Stripe
Upgrades take effect immediately. Your new asset limit and features are available right away.
Downgrade Plan
If you need to reduce your subscription:
- Click Change Plan
- Select the lower tier
- Review the new limits — make sure your current asset count doesn't exceed the new plan's limit
- Confirm the downgrade
Downgrades take effect at your next billing cycle, so you keep your current plan's features until the end of the paid period.
Cancel Subscription
If you decide to stop using Yipii IoT:
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Select a reason (this helps us improve the platform)
- Confirm the cancellation
After cancellation, your access continues until the end of the current paid period. Your data is retained for 90 days, giving you time to reactivate if you change your mind. All settings, trip history, and configurations are preserved during this window.
Payment Methods
Managing Your Payment Method
Click Manage Payment Method to open the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can update your card details, switch to a different card, or add a backup payment method. The portal is hosted securely by Stripe — Yipii never sees or stores your full card number.
Payment History
View all past transactions in a searchable list showing the date, amount, invoice number, and payment status. Click any transaction to see details or download a PDF invoice.
Invoices
Download an Invoice
- Go to Payment History
- Find the invoice you need
- Click Download PDF
Each invoice includes your company information, the service period covered, itemized charges for each subscription item (tracking, sharing, add-ons), tax breakdown, and the payment method used. Invoices are generated automatically for every successful payment.
Enterprise Billing
Enterprise accounts have access to customized billing arrangements designed for large organizations:
- Manual Invoicing — pay by bank transfer instead of card. Invoices are sent to your accounts payable team
- Custom Terms — NET 30, 60, or 90 payment terms depending on your agreement
- Volume Discounts — pricing scales favorably as your fleet grows
- Multi-Entity — separate billing per division or subsidiary, even within a single Yipii IoT account
Contact your account manager or support@yipii.com to discuss or modify enterprise billing arrangements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New accounts get a 14-day free trial with full access to all features and up to 5 assets. No credit card is required. See Signing Up for details.
Am I charged per tracker or per asset?
Billing is based on the number of active assets in your account — the vehicles or equipment you're tracking. Each asset has one tracker assigned, so the count is equivalent. Unassigned trackers that aren't linked to an asset don't count toward your plan limit.
What happens if I exceed my plan limit?
You can't add more assets than your plan allows. When you reach the limit, the system prompts you to upgrade before adding additional vehicles. Existing assets continue to work normally.
What happens if my payment fails?
If a payment fails, your account enters a "Past Due" state. The system will automatically retry the charge. You can also manually update your payment method through the Stripe Customer Portal and click Retry Payment. If payment isn't resolved within 14 days, tracking services may be paused until the balance is settled.
How does the sharing free tier work?
Every account gets 3 free public tracking links with full functionality. Once you have more than 3 active links, all shared assets are billed at tiered rates. Disabled, deleted, or expired links don't count toward the free limit. See Public Tracking Links for full pricing details.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are considered for technical issues that prevented usage, duplicate charges, and billing errors. Contact support@yipii.com with your invoice number and the reason for your request within 30 days of the charge.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes. Contact support to switch your billing cycle. Switching to annual billing at your next renewal typically saves you the equivalent of 2 months' cost compared to monthly payments.
What payment methods are accepted?
Yipii IoT accepts all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Enterprise customers can arrange bank transfer payments with custom invoicing terms.
How do bundle discounts work?
If you use both Yipii IoT (asset tracking) and Yipii Mobility (fleet management), a percentage discount is automatically applied to your subscription. The discount appears as a coupon on your Stripe invoice. If you cancel one product, the bundle discount is removed from the remaining subscription.
