Push Notifications

Enable browser push notifications to receive real-time automation alerts and platform updates on your device.

Push Notifications

Push notifications keep you informed about automation triggers, system events, and platform updates — even when the Yipii Mobility dashboard is closed or running in the background. They appear as native system notifications on your desktop or mobile device, so you never miss an important event.

How Push Notifications Work

When you enable push notifications, your browser creates a secure channel to receive messages from Yipii Mobility. When an automation triggers or the platform has an update to share, the notification is delivered instantly to your device through this channel. Clicking the notification opens the dashboard and navigates to the relevant page.

Push notifications are:

  • Free and unlimited — included with your subscription at no extra cost
  • Instant — delivered within seconds
  • Cross-platform — work on desktop (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) and mobile (Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS 16.4+)
  • Persistent — appear even when the browser is closed (on supported platforms)

Enabling Push Notifications

Via the Prompt Banner

Shortly after you log in, a notification banner appears at the bottom of the screen:

Enable Notifications — Get instant alerts even when the app is closed

Click Enable to subscribe. Your browser will ask you to confirm permission — click Allow to complete setup.

If you dismiss the banner, it reappears after 7 days. Once you enable push notifications, the banner does not appear again.

Via Settings

You can manage push notifications at any time:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Notifications from the sidebar
  2. Find the Push Notifications card
  3. Click Enable (first time) or use the toggle to turn notifications on or off

The card shows your current status:

  • Enable button — first-time setup; triggers the browser permission dialog
  • Toggle on — receiving push notifications on this device
  • Toggle off — push notifications paused; toggle back on to resume
  • Notifications blocked — browser permission was denied; see Troubleshooting to fix this

What You'll Receive

Automation Notifications

When an automation triggers and has push as a notification channel, you'll receive a push notification with the automation name and event details. This works for all automation types — asset status changes, maintenance reminders, document expirations, and more.

To add push notifications to an automation:

  1. Open the automation in the workflow builder
  2. In the notification action, add Push as a delivery channel
  3. Save the automation

Platform Updates

You may occasionally receive broadcast notifications from Yipii:

  • Release updates — new features and improvements
  • Maintenance notices — scheduled downtime (these stay on screen until dismissed)
  • Feature tips — helpful information about new capabilities

Per-Device Subscriptions

Push subscriptions are tied to each browser and device. If you use Yipii Mobility on multiple devices, enable notifications on each one separately. You can also choose to enable on your work devices only — unsubscribing on one device doesn't affect others.

Troubleshooting

Not receiving push notifications

  1. Check subscription — go to Settings > Notifications and verify the toggle is on
  2. Check automation config — ensure the automation has Push as a notification channel
  3. Check browser — requires Chrome 50+, Firefox 44+, Edge 17+, or Safari 16.4+
  4. Check OS settings — your operating system may block browser notifications. On macOS, check System Settings > Notifications. On Windows, check Settings > Notifications.
  5. Re-subscribe — toggle off and back on in Settings

Browser permission was denied

If you clicked "Block" on the browser permission dialog, reset it manually:

Chrome / Edge:

  1. Click the lock (or tune) icon in the address bar
  2. Find "Notifications" and change from "Block" to "Allow"
  3. Reload the page and enable notifications in Settings

Firefox:

  1. Click the lock icon > "Connection secure" > "More Information"
  2. Go to Permissions tab, find "Send Notifications", change to "Allow"

Safari (macOS):

  1. Safari > Settings > Websites > Notifications
  2. Find the Yipii Mobility site and change to "Allow"

Notifications work on desktop but not mobile

Each device needs its own subscription. Open the dashboard on your mobile browser, go to Settings > Notifications, and enable push.

On iOS, push requires Safari 16.4+ and the app must be installed as a PWA (added to home screen). Regular Safari browser tabs do not support push notifications.

  • PWA & Mobile Access — Install the app for the best push notification experience
  • Automations — Configure the workflows that trigger push notifications
  • Settings — General platform settings and preferences
